We are both wives and mums, both in the prime of our lives but what brought us together was breast cancer—the kind of thing you always hear about happening to someone else, right? Well, here we are.

Tasiana is 42 & thriving with Stage 4 Lobular Breast cancer with metastasis to bones (spine and pelvis), and María is 41 & currently in remission from Stage 2B hormone-positive Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (locally advanced to 1 lymph node).

We became friends and joined forces because, like many of us, we craved an “in-person” community. (Don’t get us wrong, we love Facebook groups, too!) But there’s something special about real human connection, especially when it comes to the unique experiences we face during survivorship. We truly believe these retreats are the beginning of something amazing, and we also want to be there for newly diagnosed women, offering support and hope right at the start of their journey.

Both of us experienced delayed diagnoses and pursued legal action to hold medical professionals accountable. We’re passionate about ending the casual acceptance of delayed or incorrect diagnoses—these aren’t minor oversights, and they affect women, families, and children in devastating ways. It’s time to demand better!
